BUSINESS WATCH:
Business Watch is similar to Neighborhood Watch but geared to the needs of businesses.
SHOPLIFTING:
This program is designed to make small businesses aware of the shoplifter and how to cope with the situation.
WORKING WITH ANGRY CUSTOMERS:
Is the customer always right even when he/she becomes angry or potentially violent? Learn how to deflect anger in a positive way by using the art of positive verbal defense. This training teaches basic communication strategies you can use at work and at home.
DRUGS IN THE WORKPLACE:
This program is designed to identify drugs and gang activity in the workplace setting. This program is similar to the drug identification program, as actual street drugs are shown to employees and employers. Drug paraphernalia and their applications are also discussed.
VIOLENCE IN THE WORKPLACE:
Is you workplace safe? According to FBI 2000 statistics, about 350,000 incidents of violence occur each year in the American workplace. Are you at risk? This training provides you with some simple steps to prevent a culture of potential violence. The increased potential for workplace violence calls for a high level of awareness on the
part of both employers and employees. Learn what your business can do and what you can do personally to encourage a safe work environment.
REALTOR SAFETY:
What makes your job so risky? This program is designed to give common sense safety tips to realtors to use during open house events and showing a house. Survival strategies are discussed.
FINANCIAL INSTITUTION SECURITY TRAINING:
This program provides hands-on training for employees of banks, credit unions, and financial institutions, in general. The training is three-part: good security practices, what to do in the event of a robbery, and what to do after a robbery. The entire training culminates with a mock bank robbery, which is held at the financial institution after hours. After the mock robbery, all of the training is discussed.
FLEET WATCH:
Fleet Watch is a formal community service program sponsored by area utility, business and public agencies to help maintain law and order. The goal of the program is to use commercial drivers as extra "eyes and ears" to observe and report suspicious activities or emergency situations. Fleet Watch offers a unified and visible service to our communities. The best crime prevention resource available to law enforcement is the citizens of the community.

Tailored programs are available for businesses and individuals throughout the community at no charge. The Crime Prevention Office is willing to work with any individual on a customized program.
